We Run Ultras
My ultrarunning publication and coaching site, with essays, training plans, free samples, and protected digital delivery.
Visit projectWe Run Ultras is the public home for my ultrarunning work: part publication, part coaching site. I wanted it to feel like a writer’s site rather than a fitness funnel.
The Next.js site uses local Markdown and MDX for essays, legal pages, and product copy. Its editorial structure is straightforward: home, archive, individual posts, gallery, and about, with coaching routes through TrainingPeaks and Substack.
The training-plan section adds a catalogue, plan pages, free sample PDFs, Stripe Checkout, verified download pages, and protected delivery for paid files. Plans, summaries, samples, and generated PDFs are versioned beside the editorial content rather than managed in a separate store.
A narrow layout, serif type, warm orange accents, a forest-green dark theme, and tree icons give the site its outdoors character. The design keeps the coaching commercial enough to work without allowing it to crowd out the writing.
